Poly Chlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) Soil Washing
As the cost of remediation of PCB impacted soil grew out of proportion, our professionals went to work to find a cost-effective remedial solution for the problem.  We successfully decontaminated pervious and impervious solid surfaces impacted with PCB and heavy metals.

Our attention now is directed toward finding a remedial technology to extract PCBs from soil and sediments.  We are actively conducting a QA-Level II pilot study in cooperation with national laboratories to determine the effectiveness of our technology. Results of our QA Level II study documented the reduction of PCB levels in soil by 80% to 82% after the first wash cycle. Further studies and confirmations are being conducted by our professionals at this time.

  • Reduce the amount of PCB impacted soil by 90% or better, no incineration or generation of undesired waste streams.
  • Return the decontaminated soil to its normal use following stringent cleanup verification and quality assurance.
  • Reduce the amount of concentrated PCB (solute) to be disposed of, thus reducing reliance on landfilling.
  • A final step of the study will be devoted to assessing biodegradation of the PCB concentrate (solute), to make our technology a turnkey process — completely eliminating reliance on landfills and, accordingly, eliminating all potential future liability for our Clients in lieu of being PCB waste generators with a Generator Number.
